Hemp was reputively used for health issues for thousands of years.  Unfortunately, in the 1930’s, William Rudolph Hearst and a few of his cronies decided to spread negative propaganda about hemp and marijuana. The second popular top is the Brookdale Scoop. This popular top has a Scoop neck and also 3/4 length sleeves. It comes in sedona clay, teal and black and the sizes are small, medium, large and extra large. Dash Hemp also carries this in natural, but the size range is only large and extra large. The price is also $99.00.

Both of these tops are 100% hand loomed on a flatbed knitting machine. They are hand dyed, colorfast and wrinkle free!  You can machine wash or hand wash these with no pilling. They dry overnight and do not retain body odor. Both styles have stunning asymmetrical pointelle trim. They are cool in the summer and provide thermal properties in the winter. They are perfect for everyday wear or to wear under a suit.

Dash Hemp carries a very nice selection, even though they are a small shop located in Santa Cruz, California. Most of the colors are also pretty neutral. At Dash Hemp there are fundamentally two styles of jeans. And the only color is blue denim. The first style of jean is the Nuccio. These jeans are 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton. They come in sizes from 30X28L to 36X30L at the present time.The other style of jean, also only in blue denim, is the Chi gusseted Hemp Denim Jean.  These jeans have a gusset in the crotch to allow more room. The size range for these is 30X28L to 34 x 34L at the present time.  Dash Hemp only lists sizes that they have in stock. It pays to check back often, as shipments come in almost every week. Sizes are listed when new items are added. When that size sells out, that size is removed from their website. Many customers rave about the extreme comfort of these jeans. Hemp Sheet Sets

Oh, and they just recently started carrying bed sheets made from hemp. They only have one style of pillowcase that comes in a set. These sell for $45.00. I suggest you purchase only the pillowcases to try out, if you are on the fence, before you invest hundreds of dollars. I don’t think you will be disappointed, but it is better to make sure. They also have natural hemp sheets that come in queen size and king size. The queen set will set you back $349.00 and the king set $399.00, unless they are on sale. (which they often are.) I know that sounds like a lot, but remember that these sheets will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They also will not absorb all of the sweat and odors that other sheets do. They tend to get  softer and softer over time, and will outlast any other sheets that you own!

My husband and I were in Santa Cruz last week, and visited the Dash Hemp store to check it out! We met the affable owner, Richard Dash and explored his shop. The feel of the clothes is truly amazing. The clothes are very soft to the touch and the colors are very rich. Also, when one enters the store, there is a container with some actual hemp fibers on display. The fiber is extremely soft to the touch. We were blown away by the quality of the clothes. You can feel the denseness of the clothes, although they are not heavy. The weave is extremely tight and the softness of the fabric will make you swoon!
